Norwegian Red SpermVital – very successful in Holland
Excellent results with NRF SpermVital were achieved in Holland during summer of 2010. Several hundred Holstein cows from 30 herds were randomly inseminated with either ordinary Holstein semen or Norwegian Red SpermVital semen.
The Geno partner Xsires and students from Christelijke Agrarische Hogeschool, Freek Beernink and Walter Kock, conducted a three-month trial using the product. The average pregnancy rate of the SpermVital inseminated cows was 49% compared to 25% with the Holstein semen.
Several hundred Holstein cows from 30 herds were randomly inseminated with either ordinary Holstein semen or SpermVital semen from the NRF bull, 10177 Braut. Only Holstein cows that were not pregnant from 1st inseminations were a part of the study; 231 SpermVital inseminations and 204 Holstein inseminations were made.
Very high pregnancy rate using SpermVital compared to Holstein semen
NRF SpermVital had a significantly better fertilization than ordinary Holstein semen. The average pregnancy rate of the SpermVital inseminated cows was 49% comparing to 25% with the Holstein semen. The difference was even bigger for 4th services/inseminations; the 4th service result for NRF SpermVital semen was 59% pregnant compared to 21% for Holstein semen.
We have seen similar results in Italy and Germany.
